The Performance Metrics for Intelligent Systems (PerMIS) workshop will be held from Sept. 28-30, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland . It is dedicated to defining measures and methodologies of evaluating performance of intelligent systems. As the only workshop of its kind, PerMIS has proved to be an excellent forum for sharing lessons learned and discussions as well as fostering collaborations between researchers and practitioners from industry, academia and government agencies. The main theme of the ninth iteration of the workshop, PerMIS'10, seeks to address the question: "Does performance measurement accelerate the pace of advancement for intelligent systems?" In addition to the main theme, as in previous years, the workshop will focus on applications of performance measures to practical problems in commercial, industrial, homeland security, and military applications.

This year, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is providing funding to allow undergraduate and graduate students to attend PerMIS. We encourage students from your University to apply for this funding that could support your travel, hotel, and registration fees. Please note that the amount of support will depend on the number of selected applicants.

If interested, the students should complete an application form and email to both Prof. Holly Yanco and Ms. Jeanenne Salvermoser.

We look forward to seeing you and your students at PerMIS'10!
