NIST serves as the headquarters for the interagency Manufacturing USA program, a network of manufacturing innovation institutes across the country that brings together industry, academia and the public sector to advance American manufacturing. The network includes the ARM Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which has 415 members. The ARM Institute accelerates the development and adoption of robotics technologies that are the foundation of advanced manufacturing activities today and in the future.
