The efficacy of different structural models for describing the observed neutron-powder-diffraction (NPD) measurements of bulk polycrystalline YD3 as well as other hexagonal rare-earth (i.e., Nd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm) trideuteride powders has been
