Dr. August Staubus is a postdoctoral fellow in the Cellular Engineering group in the Material Measurement Laboratory. He works with RNA synthetic biology team working on improving our ability to understand and engineer RNA-based circuits in vivo. His research involves applying massively parallel functional profiling to engineered biological systems, enabling the simultaneous, high-resolution measurement of thousands of RNA circuit architectures, accelerating our ability to predictably program cellular behavior.
While August was born in Alexandria, Virginia, he grew up in Solana Beach, California and has since lived in Portland, Oregon and Houston Texas. In his free time, August enjoys cycling, aquascaping, and vegetarian cooking.
