Deborah Jacobs (Fed)

Engineering Technician

Deborah Jacobs is an engineering technician in the Infrastructure Materials Group of the Materials and Structural Systems Division (MSSD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Mrs. Jacobs is currently involved in analytical measurements, primarily related to photodegradation of polymers and helps manage and maintain the SPHERE. She is also part of a team responsible for transferring the SPHERE technology to industry.

Originally from Ohio, Mrs. Jacobs attended Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania, where she studied chemistry and computer science.  She also received a Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
