The NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM) is pleased to have Mary Kombolias from the Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP) at NIST join us on a one year detail assignment with the Laboratory Metrology Program. Her expertise in materials science and standards development with the U.S. Government Publishing Office, and experience in teaching chemistry and physical science course topics, make her a great candidate to serve the Laboratory Metrology stakeholders. Mary has been affiliated with NIST since 2016 and has worked on a variety of projects, including collaborations with the Radiation Physics Division, the CHIPS Program, and now OWM. We look forward to Mary's contributions in supporting and expanding the Laboratory Metrology Program’s capabilities and promoting uniformity and traceability to the International System of Units (SI).

Mary’s focus over the next year will be on innovations and improvements to the Fundamentals of Metrology course through the development of on-demand learning resources and AI tool applications. She looks forward to engaging further with the laboratory metrology community, at NIST metrology seminars, online training, and at upcoming Regional Measurement Assurance Program (RMAP) meetings.

Welcome Mary! We are excited to have you join OWM!
