Julia Sharp (Fed)

Mathematical Statistician

Julia Sharp is a Mathematical Statistician at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the Statistical Engineering Division (SED). 

Julia earned her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Evansville in 1998 and then served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for one year. She earned her M.S. (2001) and Ph.D. in Statistics (2007) from Montana State University. Julia was on the faculty at Clemson University for more than nine years before moving to Colorado State University where she was a Full Professor and Director of the Graybill Statistics & Data Science Laboratory. Julia joined NIST SED in 2023.

Julia has expertise in experimental design, mixed effects modeling, uncertainty analysis, and longitudinal data analyses across many scientific domains, as well as statistical collaboration and training the next generation of applied statisticians.
