Dr. Jennifer Berry is a research chemist in the Fluid Characterization Group at NIST-Boulder, where she leads projects focused on the analysis of breath samples from cannabis users as part of the Chemical Foundations for a Cannabis Breathalyzer program. Her work also involves the development of dynamic vapor microextraction (DVME) techniques for detecting ignitable liquids in fire debris, supporting the Vapor Sampling to Support Public Safety and Forensics program. Dr. Berry earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado, where she developed chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) techniques for measuring organic nitrogen in various environments. At NIST, she has been actively involved in the Boulder Postdoctoral and Early-Career Association of Researchers (PEAR), holding leadership roles and contributing to professional development initiatives.
