Location and Orientation

The Wall is located at the NIST site in Gaithersburg, Maryland, at the Southwest end of the campus. The wall faces South, providing a direct exposure to the sunlight. The back face to the North resides all day long in the wall's shadow. This is the same orientation that the wall had at its original location in Washington D.C.

The archival specimens of the wall stones are stored at the NIST in the facilities of the Engineering Laboratory's  Inorganic Materials Group that is in charge of the project.
