Make a Difference: Participate in the NICE Community

We invite you to get involved! As we begin the new year, many of us are busy making resolutions and plans for the year ahead. The NICE Program Office encourages you to consider how you can include participation in the NICE Community into those plans. Listed below are a few ways to be an active contributor:

Join a Working Group, Community of Interest, or Project Team

The NICE Community Coordinating Council operates several Working Groups and Communities of Interest that are open to the public. Working Groups, in particular, have been established to pursue projects related to NICE Strategic Plan goals and objectives.

Current project teams under the Working Groups are as follows:

Join the NICE Community Coordinating Council to become a member. Members may email each Working Group or Community of Interest to learn more about how to get involved or participate in a project.

Exhibit, Speak at, and Attend Events

NICE holds several virtual, hybrid, and in-person events throughout the year. Visit our list of events online or view the NICE Calendar to see where we’ll be headed next.

There are also opportunities to exhibit and speak at our events. For example, the NICE Conference & Expo Planning Committee is currently seeking presentation proposals for the June 3-5, 2024 conference in Dallas, Texas. Proposals are due by January 22, 2024.

Respond to Requests for Public Comments

Additionally, there are times throughout the year that NIST and NICE hope to get your feedback on the development of draft content. For example, the NICE Program Office is currently seeking comments on proposed updates to NICE Framework Task Statements. Comments are due by January 29, 2024.

Visit NIST’s Computer Security Resource Center to learn about publications available for comment.

Provide Direct Feedback

Your ideas and input are essential to the continued growth and success of NICE. Please feel free to email us at nice [at] nist.gov (nice[at]nist[dot]gov) with any feedback or suggestions.
