FISSEA is an organization run by and for Federal government information security professionals to assist Federal agencies in strengthening their employee cybersecurity awareness and training programs. An annual conference and quarterly forums are coordinated to provide opportunities for policy and programmatic updates, the exchange of best practices, and discussion and engagement among members of the FISSEA community. The FISSEA Planning committee develops agendas for the conference and forums and conducts the annual Innovator of the Year awards and Security Awareness and Training Contest.
The Planning Committee is a volunteer group of federal government and other cybersecurity professionals. The Committee meets monthly, for an hour. Planning Committee members must attend a minimum of three meetings within a six-month period to remain a Committee member.
