FISSEA Frequently Asked Questions

The name originally was an abbreviation for Federal Information Systems Security Educators Association but has now been shortened to Federal Information Security Educators (FISSEA).

Any Federal government information security awareness and training professional is welcome to join.

The FISSEA Call for Speakers is open year-round. View submission guidelines, topics of interests, and submit a proposal online. Keep an eye out for “priority deadlines” to be considered for the next FISSEA event.

Email us at FISSEA [at] nist.gov to express your interest in joining the Planning Committee. Interested participants will be invited to a Planning Committee meeting to introduce themselves to the group and observe the meeting to understand Planning Committee expectations. If the interested participant is qualified, is interested and there are no objections from the existing members, they will be added to the Planning Committee.
