Ms. Anita Vanek - Director of the Business Operations Office
Anita Vanek is the Director of the Business Operations Office at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In this role, she works with offices across NIST to enhance operations by providing NIST with the service environment, processes, and partnerships needed for NIST to be a world leader in measurement science, standards, and technology. Ms. Vanek and her team fulfill this goal by partnering with key stakeholders to develop exceptional products and services using project management, process engineering, relationship management, and customer engagement.
Prior to this, Ms. Vanek led the project management and process improvement practices in the NIST CIO’s Office. She has also served in various process engineering and project management positions in manufacturing and consulting industries. Ms. Vanek has a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and professional facilitation certifications, a Master's in Public Leadership with a focus on Organizational Improvement from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University.
