Jamie Ambrosi

I’m Jamie from the Baldrige Marketing and Partnering Team.  I joined the Program in 1999 after working in public affairs for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 7 years.  I have been lucky enough to be on the management and workforce development teams as well as on outreach.

Mary Eastman

I have been a part of the Baldrige Program since 2000 as a website editor, usability specialist, Award Process monitor, and online scorebook application technical assistant. Recently I became interested in learning about website statistics and process mapping.  Prior to Baldrige, I worked at the EPA Office of Water and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. My outside interests are auto racing (as a spectator), jewelry making, and American history.

I’m Jackie Calhoun from the Baldrige Marketing and Partnering Team. I joined the Program in 1993 and during my career here,  I have been fortunate enough to be on the Publications Management Team and Examiner Training and Workforce Development Team. I also I have served as Team leader on each of the teams. Prior to Baldrige, I worked as a physical scientist in the NIST Physics Laboratory, Center for Radiation Research.

Mark Schmit

Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP), since 1988, has been committed to strengthening U.S. manufacturing, continually evolving to meet the changing needs of manufacturers. As division chief for regional and state partnerships, Mark is the lead for division policy and has assisted in the development of programs supporting manufacturing and industrial extension technology-based economic development, and entrepreneurship practices with state elected officials and policy makers, including the MEP policy academies, which were designed by MEP and partners to help states build upon existing strategies, leverage available resources, and spur creative new ideas about how to address major challenges or leverage opportunities around the manufacturing sector.  Mark is responsible for developing partnerships with both the public and private sector entities. He was an MEP co-lead for the creation of MFG Day, an outreach program held on the first Friday in October to show students, parents, and the public what modern manufacturing is all about, with growing annual participation across the United States. Mark was a 2001, 2005, 2014, and 2020 recipient of NIST’s George Uriano Award.  The George Uriano Award recognizes outstanding achievements by NIST staff in building and strengthening NIST extramural programs and partnerships.

Ken Voytek

Mr. Voytek is the Manager of the Program Evaluation and Economic Research Group and the Chief Economist with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In his spare time, he collects baseball cards, reads obscure books and articles, and shares his bubbly personality with family, friends, and colleagues.

Ben Vickery

Ben Vickery is Group Manager of Marketing & Communications for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He previously served as Senior Technical Advisor at NIST MEP and was the Team Lead for Applied Development within NIST MEP’s Programs and Partnerships Division (PPD), where he led numerous initiatives, including Technology Collaboratives, E3 (Economy, Energy & Environment), Technology Scouting and Technology Driven Market Intelligence. Ben also served as Senior Analyst with the NIST Manufacturing Futures Group, where he focused on challenges facing U.S. manufacturers in the global economy, and was Product Line Manager for Lean Enterprise at NIST MEP. Ben received an M.S. in Public Policy, focused on Science & Technology Policy, as well as a B.S. in History, Technology & Society from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Doug Devereaux

Doug Devereaux is a Senior Industrial Specialist at MEP, where he focuses on the capture and dissemination of financial resources and strategies that can be used by MEP centers to help manufacturers develop innovative products or expand markets and sales. Over his 25 years experience at the state and federal Departments of Commerce, Doug has led industrial missions to the Pacific Rim and produced various publications involving such topics as laboratory technology transfer, business incubator practices, science and engineering trends in Asia, and community approaches to angel capital investment.

Dileep Thatte

Dileep is a co-lead on the MEP National Network’s initiative to help food manufacturers with food safety, operational optimization and growth. In the past, he has been involved with many other initiatives including growth through innovation, technology scouting and technology driven market intelligence, a program which enables manufacturers to diversify their markets.

Prior to joining the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), Dileep spent over 20 years in various capacities with multinational firms namely Merck & Co., Calgon Corporation and Nalco Chemical Company.

He has extensive experience in international business and has held responsibilities such as President of Canadian Operations, Managing Director of Asia Pacific and European Operations and Global Business Director for several divisions of Calgon Corporation and Nalco during his career.

He holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration.
