Dr. Amit Elazari is Head of Cybersecurity Policy at Intel, Lecturer at the UC Berkeley Master in Cybersecurity and Reichman University, Israel, and an External Advisor for the Center for Long Term Cybersecurity at UC Berkeley School of Information. Elazari participates in international standardization, currently serving as co-editor of ISO/IEC 27402, baseline security and privacy requirements for IoT devices. She also chairs the Cybersecurity Policy Committees for the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) and Open Source Security Foundation (OSSF). She holds a Doctoral Degree in the Law (J.S.D.) from Berkeley Law, and graduated summa cum laude three prior degrees in law and business. Her research appeared in leading academic journals, key conferences such as RSAC, Black Hat, DEFCON, and USENIX, and featured at the WSJ and NYT. She co-founded Disclose.io, a non-profit that foster adoptions of legal protections for good-faith security research. She has an extensive background in technical, policy and legal roles, and practiced High-Tech Law in Israel leading law firm, GKH Law.
Elaine Newton is a Senior Director at Oracle for Global Standards Policy and Compliance, focused on cybersecurity and AI/ML developments. Elaine is also the lead editor of ISO/IEC 27402, baseline security and privacy requirements for IoT devices. Previously, Elaine worked for more than 11 years at NIST in the Information Technology Laboratory, serving as the Standards Lead for Applied Cybersecurity before joining Oracle.
Angela Smith serves as the technical lead for NIST’s Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management program in the Computer Security Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. She also represents NIST on the Federal Acquisition Security Council’s Working Group and Task Force, co-leads the public-private Software and Supply Chain Assurance Forum as well as the Federal C-SCRM Forum. Prior to joining NIST, Ms. Smith was a Senior with GSA where she provided leadership in the development and implementation of GSA’s SCRM program and supported various interagency and Whitehouse-led initiatives and workstreams focused on improving cybersecurity and resilience. Angela is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, holds a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Information Technology policy from George Mason University, and is a veteran of the US Air Force
Blair Milo is the founding Director of the Center for Talent and Opportunity, a community resource at the Sagamore Institute. The Center focuses on closing the wealth gap of women and minorities by accelerating high-growth entrepreneurship and impact investing. She previously served as the first Secretary of Career Connections and Talent, a cabinet position newly created by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb. In this role, she launched the 21st Century Talent Regions initiative resulting in 80 Indiana counties forming collaborative regions to plan and implement strategies for attracting, developing and connecting talent. She also helped create the Indiana Talent Network, which connects stakeholders statewide to share best practices for equitable talent policies and strategies. Before joining state government, Blair was elected Mayor of La Porte, Indiana in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. She also served 13 years with the U.S. Navy. Blair is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Civil Society Fellowship, a partnership of The Aspen Institute and the Anti-Defamation League.
Andrew Wilson is the chief of the NIST Quantum Physics Division and supports the broad quantum information science program at NIST. He is also the NIST program official for the Quantum Economic Development Consortium, working to enable and grow the U.S. quantum industry. Wilson completed his Ph.D. in AMO physics at the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 1993. Wilson joined NIST in 2010.
Advait Madhavan is a University of Maryland assistant research scientist at NIST. He received a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His interests lie in various brain-inspired approaches to computation.
Bernadine Hawes is an executive level, nonprofit professional and economic development specialist working in the areas of manufacturing strategy, small business growth, and project management workforce development. She is a Senior Advisor at Econsult Solutions, Inc. which provides robust quantitative analysis with trusted expert insights and impactful implementation to businesses and the public sector in urban economics, real estate economics, public infrastructure, public policy, and community and neighborhood development and planning. Her long career includes her work as Technology Specialist for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in crafting the state’s “Blueprint for Technology” and leadership roles on regional and national manufacturing industry boards, including vice chair of the MEP Advisory Board. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Ms. Hawes has a Master of Science from the University of Pennsylvania and is a summa cum laude graduate of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She has been the national co-chair of Penn’s Black Alumni Society and is a former member of the University of Pennsylvania’s James Brister Society for Diversity Inclusion.
Edward Sisco has been a research chemist at NIST for the past eight years, focusing on the collaborative development of tools and resources to increase the efficiency, objectivity and safety of forensic drug analysis. Ed received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Maryland in 2014 and his B.S. in chemistry and forensic science from West Virginia University in 2010. In 2021, Ed was a Service to America Medals finalist in the emerging leader category for his work developing tools to rapidly detect opioids. When he’s not in the lab, you’ll find him traveling the world with his wife or paddleboarding the Chesapeake with his dogs.
