Triangle Precision, located in Kettering, Ohio, provides close tolerance precision machining, forming, and fabrication to many vital industries including aerospace, defense, high-speed printing, electronics, racing, medical, and automotive.

Triangle Precision contacted FastLane, part of the Ohio MEP and the MEP National Network™, to see how it could leverage automation to improve efficiency and provide more capabilities to new and existing clients in the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) supply chain. It also needed to renew its AS9100 and ITAR certifications. These certifications are critical to its business model because they are required for half of its business volume.

“FastLane is the one source that I call to find the resources I need to manage my company. They understand my business and always point me in the best direction for my needs.”

— Bryan Holzinger, President

The FastLane team helped Triangle see how automation could improve its efficiency. Leveraging the Ohio Defense Manufacturing Community (ODMC) grant, FastLane helped Triangle to automate its new three-axis CNC machine by adding an articulating arm and conveyor system. This created the opportunity for lights-out machining (a production method that requires little to no human interaction), making the Triangle team more productive. FastLane also assisted Triangle in renewing its AS9100 and ITAR certifications, allowing the retention of current DOD business and improving its ability to compete for more commercial aerospace business.
