Abstract

The purpose of this document is to provide instructions for using a newly developed TRNSYS component (Type277). Type277 enables the loosely-coupled integration of a TRNSYS model with Java software environments using socket communication. The bi-directional flow of information is facilitated through a Client-Server architecture in Java. Type277 is compiled in both 32-bit and 64-bit dynamic link libraries to support the integration of simulation models that are developed in TRNSYS17 and TRNSYS18 releases. An application of Type277 is demonstrated by modifying an existing simulation model (PVT) included with standard TRNSYS releases. To ensure a reliable transfer of information, the data are serialized using Google’s protocol buffers [1].
