In this article, we investigate the suitability of wireless technologies in healthcare/hospital environments. We focus on Wireless Personal Area Network technologies, namely, Bluetooth and the low-rate specifications described in the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. We evaluate the relevance of each technology for supporting medical applications and examine related.
