Abstract

This report describes the national standardization and conformity assessment system in the Republic of Korea. To the extent possible, efforts have been made to provide a comparison of U.S. entities with Korean entities.Though a general overview of the Korean standards and conformity assessment system is provided in this report, most contents in this report pertain to activities carried out by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. KATS serves as the Korean national standardization body.
