Neutron Collimation With Microchannel Plates: Calibration of Existing Technology and Near

April 1, 2007
Author(s)
A S. Tremsin, Daniel S. Hussey, David L. Jacobson, Muhammad D. Arif, Robert Gregory Downing, W B. Feller, David F. Mildner
A new type of high performance and compact neutron collimator can be manufactured from Gd- or B-doped microchannel plates (MCPs). Structures only a few mm thick have very narrow rocking curves and high out-of-angle rejection ratios, as observed previously

The Detection and Sizing of Flaws in Components From the Hot-End of Gas Turbines Using Phase Contrast Radiography: A Feasibility Study

Author(s)
J Thornton, P J. McMahon, B E. Allman, J E. Murphy, K A. Nugent, David L. Jacobson, Muhammad D. Arif, S. A. Werner
In this paper we present a feasibility study of the use of phase contrast radiography in the examination of components from the hot-section of gas turbine engines. These components are usually made from dense materials (nickel or cobalt based superalloys)
