Abstract
As part of its Fire Risk Research Program, the NRC (Nuclear regulatory Commission) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) are participating in an International Collaborative Fire Model Project (ICFMP) to assess and validate fire computer codes for nuclear power plant applications. This assessment is being conducted through benchmarking and validation exercises. The tests are simulating fire scenarios in a single compartment. The focus is to provide data from a large-scale fire test of a simulated nuclear power plant cable room. The data collected will be used to validate fire models in international benchmark exercises. This document contains a number of preliminary measurement results necessary as input for simulating the fires including:--Fuel flow rates and Heat Release Rates--Flow rates in supply and exhaust mechanical ventilation vents--Contact resistance between marinite boards--Ambient condition outside compartment in building: temperature, humidity--Compartment leakage rate measurementsA full report on these experiments including the test data will be available when the experiments and analysis have been completed.
