Abstract

[Superseded by SP 800-90A Revision 1 (June 2015): http://www.nist.gov/manuscript-publication-search.cfm?pub_id=918489] This Recommendation specifies mechanisms for the generation of random bits using deterministic methods. The methods provided are based on either hash functions, block cipher algorithms or number theoretic problems.
