Abstract

Interaction models capture how businesses interact with customers and each other to provide products and services. The trend toward combinations of products and services increases the complexity of interactions beyond the capacity of conventional business process modeling languages. This paper describes Interaction diagrams and interactive processes in Business Process Model and Notation 2 (BPMN 2), a major upgrade to the first version of BPMN. It describes the additional interaction models introduced in BPMN 2, as well as enhancements in process modeling to support interactions.
