Abstract
The purpose of this document is to provide a foundation for establishing a modeling and simulation technical interest group whose focus is information exchange on healthcare issues. The document defines an initial set of user/customer needs and system requirements. Existing healthcare M&S information sources and capabilities such as: projects, tools, standards, and data sets are also identified. The document concludes with a discussion of issues, concerns, and recommendations for advancing M&S for healthcare systems. It also provides references. A glossary of terms is also planned.
