Abstract

The electronic SURDAT database published in 2007 (available freely from the website www.imim.pl) is being integrated with the NIST database (available freely from www.boulder.nist.gov/div853/lead_free/solders.html) to provide a single source for data on Pb-free soldering alloys. The NIST database was developed to support circuit board designers and so focused primarily on the mechanical properties. In contrast, the SURDAT database focused primarily on thermophysical properties. Together, they will form a much more complete source for the properties of the Pb-free solder alloys.
