Abstract

NIST performed a series of independent analyses to guide advanced manufacturing research investments. This briefs analyzes results that identified technology infrastructure needs in smart manufacturing. The study finds that closing these gaps supports the research, development, production and diffusion activities of national laboratories, universities and firms alike and delivers substantial economic benefit to the advanced manufacturing sector.
