Abstract

This work reviews the current state of knowledge for the second virial coefficients of water vapor with air and with argon. Comparative tabulations of the coefficients are given from -20 degrees C to 100 degrees C along with the associated uncertainties. For Ar-H2O a pair potential produced by ab initio quantum calculations achieves a smaller uncertainty in the second virial coefficient than experiment. For Air-H2O, the existing experimental data are fairly well established in this temperature range, with uncertainties small enough for most purposes.
