Jennifer joined NIST at the Hollings Marine Laboratory in Charleston, South Carolina in 2008 where she serves as a member of the Biospecimen Science Group. Currently, she oversees the Seabird Tissue Archival and Monitoring Project (STAMP) which is a unique national resource containing serially collected seabird eggs from 45 colonies located along coastal Alaska (since 1999) and in the Hawaiian archipelago (since 2010). Additional responsibilities include the implementation of standardized protocols pertaining to the collection, processing and archival of a multitude of tissues and matrices into the NIST Biorepository. She also assists and oversees the production of a variety of reference materials (RMs) in NIST’s in-house Cryogenic Reference Material Production Facility. And regarding measurement, Jennifer has extensive experience in the application of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for the determination of both legacy and emerging contaminants in marine species and RMs.
