Greg Yeric (Fed)

Director of Research, CHIPS R&D NSTC Program

Greg joined the CHIPS R&D program in January of 2024 and is primarily focused on research program definitions at the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), a semiconductor R&D entity that was specifically funded by the CHIPS act.

Dr. Yeric received his BSEE, MSEE and PhD EE degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.  His PhD was in the area of MOSFET fabrication and reliability. He began his professional career at Motorola's Advanced Products Research and Development Laboratory (APRDL) in the area of embedded Flash process integration before moving to a technology development services company, TestChip Technologies, which was eventually acquired by Synopsys.  

In a subsequent 12 years at Arm, Dr. Yeric became a Fellow at Arm Research, focusing on Design-Technology interactions, which included forecasting the opportunities and challenges with future semiconductor technology on physical and logical design. 

Dr. Yeric co-founded Cerfe Labs in 2020, a spin-out from Arm, where, as CTO, he focused on commercializing a new type of non-volatile memory. Upon accepting the job with the CHIPS R&D office, he relocated to the DC area after 40 years in Austin, TX.

Dr. Yeric has over 50 refereed publications and over 20 U.S. Patents.
