Amanda’s work is focused on improving measurement techniques and expanding technologies that will ultimately promote best practices and high-quality data collection in the metabolomics community. She applies a broad range of untargeted and targeted analytical techniques (NMR, LC-MS, GC-MS) to answer pressing biological questions and to improve harmonization in the field of metabolomics. Her work towards harmonization is implemented by the measurement and development of biological reference materials with applications in clinical health, environmental exposure, and complex microbial systems. Amanda's experience with reference materials includes NIST certification of targeted analyte values traceable to SI as well as the development of technically updated reference methods that support the accuracy of specific measurements.
