Alexander Osterbaan (Fed)

Within the Nanoscale Reliability Group, Dr. Alexander Osterbaan focuses on the fundamental science and application of vat photopolymerization (VPP), multiphysics modeling, and dual-wavelength photopolymerization processes. His work addresses critical challenges in additive manufacturing by advancing the foundational measurement science required for next-generation additive manufacturing.

He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Boulder, where his research explored the intersection of fundamental polymer chemistry and optical engineering. Recognizing that complex optical and structural limitations often require materials-driven solutions, his background spans the development of multistage networks (dual-cure, dynamic covalent, degradable), to enhance optical processing and properties in holography and volumetric additive manufacturing.
