Abstract
This paper deals with process plans used for the milling machine in the Vertical Workstation (VWS) of the Automated Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF) at the National Bureau of Standards. Chapter II gives background about process planning. Chapter III describes the specific process plan protocol used for the VWS milling machine. Chapter IV describes how process plans are generated automatically for the VWS milling machine. Chapter V describes how process plans for the VWS milling machine are enhanced automatically. The descriptions pertain to the system in use during the spring of 1987.Citation
