Abstract
This report describes the results of the first phase of a research project to evaluate how contaminants accidentally or intentionally introduced into the water supply might accumulate in building plumbing systems, and how these contaminants might be removed should accumulation occur. The report discusses the progress to date, including a review of relevant scientific literature, and analytical overview, the development of measurement methods, measurement results and analysis, preliminary modeling and characterization methods, and measurement issues.
