Abstract
An apparatus that can characterize and visualize temporal dynamics of spatial light modulators (SLM) or flat panel displays is constructed and evaluated using a commercially available spatial light modulator as a test subject. The apparatus is based on the stroboscopic video sampling method and has a temporal resolution on the order of microseconds, and permits a long event (more than 100 ms) measurement with high signal-to-noise ratio. Experimental results demonstrating the visualization of the image addressing in an SLM are provided.
