Abstract

This technical report details approaches to the amplitude calibration and noise character- ization of frequency dependent power detection in the 1-6 GHz range using noise with a known power spectral density. The noise is generated by a commercial off the shelf noise diode or a programmable noise source. The construction and characterization of the programmable noise source is covered. In addition, results from an extended large scale sensor deployment monitoring the electromagnetic environment in the 3550 - 3700 MHz range are presented.
