Bryant C. Nelson of the NIST Material Measurement Laboratory was honored with an Award of Appreciation from the ASTM International Committee E56 on Nanotechnology for his exceptional leadership and service as Chair of Subcommittee E56.08. He was recognized for steering the committee toward the technical development of critical standards that ensure the safety, quality, and characterization of nano-enabled medical products. A key achievement highlighted by the award was his leadership in coordinating and publishing ASTM E3482-25—a standard guide for the characterization, extraction, and analysis of RNA packaged in lipid nanoparticle (RNA-LNP) formulations for drug delivery.
