This 3-day seminar will teach students how to properly inspect and test vehicle and axle-load scales, i.e., perform an official examination by properly applying all applicable NIST Handbook 44 requirements, which are outlined in NIST EPO 13. The sessions will include formal lecture, class discussion, group exercises, audio-visual presentations, and some hands-on practice.

Learning Objectives
After this seminar, participants will be able to:
APPLY applicable requirements and procedures outlined in NIST EPO 13
UNDERSTAND and CONDUCT official examinations (inspection and tests) on vehicle and axle-load scales
Minimum Requirements
Students must be in attendance for the entire class, participate in all group activities that are planned, and achieve a score of 70 percent or higher on a final exam, which will be administered on the last day of the class. Students who do not fulfill these requirements will not receive a certificate of completion.
Students who will access the class materials electronically during class should bring a laptop. The class materials can also be printed prior to the class, but OWM will not provide printed materials.
