Chemical Management Program

The Chemical Management Suborder sets forth required work practices, procedures, equipment, and training that can protect employees and associates from the physical and health hazards of chemicals used at NIST. The suborder serves as NIST’s written chemical hygiene plan and fulfills the requirements of Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories Standard. The Chemical Management Program Managers serve as NIST's Chemical Hygiene Officers.
