Shelby Bowers (Fed)
Communications Director, Material Measurement Laboratory
Shelby Bowers (formerly Geraci) is the Communications Director for the Material Measurement Laboratory (MML) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). In her role, she edits and publishes the laboratory's newsletter through the GovDelivery platform; oversees the laboratory's internal and external website content through the Drupal content management system; and coordinates and hosts the laboratory's office hours. Shelby serves as the Information Coordinator for MML and is a member of the NIST Website Taxonomy Committee. She is also the laboratory's primary account manager for Slido, Adobe Stock, Google Analytics, and the internal NIST YouTube.
Prior to her time in MML, Shelby worked in the NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM), in the role of Publications Coordinator, where she edited, formatted, and published OWM's newsletter and NIST Handbooks 44, 130, 133, and the NCWM Annual Report.
Shelby holds a master's degree in Communications and has a decade of experience working in communications in the realms of government, corporate, and higher education. In her spare time, she also adjunct teaches communications and writing courses online.
