2020 Samuel Wesley Stratton Award

AWARD CITATION

Dr. Butch is recognized for extraordinary contributions to the physics of topological superconductors. Meticulous and insightful characterization have determined a wealth of remarkable properties and revolutionary insights into the novel phase diagram of uranium ditelluride. The unconventional properties of UTe2 are a playground for the development of new Majorana fermions physics and could be used in the development of error-resistant quantum computers.
