2020 Gold Medal Award

AWARD CITATION

This team is honored for the design, construction, and deployment of the first instrument in the US for very small angle neutron scattering measurements, an exceptional new tool for characterizing the structure of materials from the nanoscale into the mesoscale. This instrument is yielding new insights into a wide-range of technologies including biopharmaceuticals, drug delivery systems, personal care products, advanced polymers, materials for energy conversion and storage, chemical production and separation, advanced data storage systems, and materials for quantum information applications.
