AWARD CITATION

Dr. Plante is recognized for the design and deployment of an innovative NIST-wide research data preservation system. It is the first such system to rigorously use international data standards and principles in practice for the NIST data publication process.  His system a provides a permanent citation mechanism for published NIST research data, makes the data accessible to nearly any computer platform, and ensures NIST research data can be used by the global scientific community for critical technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
