AWARD CITATION
The team is recognized for their proactive leadership in the development and deployment of improvements to the ITL annual safety inspection process and further enhancement of ITL's safety culture. The team took a lead role with early adoption of the OSHE Workplace Inspection Reporting System (WIRS) application and integrated it with a novel ITL-wide Spring Safety Clean-Up initiative. Through this approach, ITL staff were encouraged to expand general housekeeping to include good safety practice, resulting in greater awareness of common safety challenges, and proactive efforts to address common safety issues in order to yield fewer deficiencies during inspections.
