AWARD CITATION

The group is recognized for the development of the “Configurable Robotic Millimeter-Wave Antenna” (CROMMA) facility. Based on a six-degree-of-freedom articulated-arm robot, and a dynamic position and orientation laser-tracking system, CROMMA is the world’s first 100 – 500 GHz antenna near-field scanning range. CROMMA enables antenna pattern, gain, and polarization measurements over any scan geometry (spherical, cylindrical, planar, extrapolation) with significantly lower uncertainties (<25 micrometer positioning accuracy) to meet the test needs of critical communication, satellite, and sensing systems.
