The TREC Workshop is open to individual participants and teams. Each year, the TREC committee invites teams to register in the Spring and present results at the conference in November. In person slots are limited and will be hosted at the NIST Gaithersburg campus this year.
TREC is an annual evaluation workshop series hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The workshop's goal is to encourage research in information retrieval by providing large test collections, uniform scoring procedures, and a forum for organizations interested in comparing their results. This year, TREC tracks included Ad-hoc Video Search (AVS), Biomedical Generative Retrieval (BioGen), Change Detection, Detection, Retrieval, and Augmented Generation for Understanding News (DRAGUN), Interactive Knowledge Assistance (iKAT), Million LLM, Product Search and Recommendation , Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), RAG TREC Instrument for Multilingual Evaluation (RAGTIME) , Tip-of-the-Tongue, and Video Question Answering (VQA).
Who should attend the conference?
Workshop participants are highly encouraged to those who took part in TREC 2025 tracks. More information about the TREC program can be found on the TREC project page, https://trec.nist.gov/
