ISART 2017: Spectrum Mining at Millimeter Waves

The International Symposium on Advanced Radio Technologies (ISART) is a US government-sponsored conference that brings together government, academia, and industry leaders for the purpose of collaborating on groundbreaking developments and applications of advanced radio technologies.

Digging for Capacity: As more spectrum users squeeze into the lower frequency bands, more are exploring the higher frequencies to meet their capacity needs. Millimeter wave frequencies, approximately 20 GHz and above, are able to meet some of those needs. ISART 2017 will explore millimeter waves, the technical challenges they present, and applications that use them. This year’s tutorial and four panels will approach this topic from five different perspectives: regulation, industry, standards, measurement and modeling, and systems. Industry demonstrations and poster sessions from academia will round out the conference. The goal of ISART 2017 is to get us all talking, exploring new ideas, brainstorming, and perhaps even solve a couple of millimeter wave obstacles.

ISART 2017 will be the 16th in the series of high quality symposia for technical researchers, business leaders, government policy makers, telecommunication regulators, and technology forecasters to share groundbreaking developments and applications of advanced radio technologies and to look into the future of wireless and radio technologies. ISART 2017 is jointly sponsored by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Communications Technology Laboratory (NIST/CTL).
