Black History Month Colloquium: Remembering NBS, My Gateway to a Future of Service and Opportunity

Reatha Clark King
During this special Black History Month Colloquium, Dr. King will describe the powerful influence that her employment as a research chemist at the National Bureau of Standards (NBS) fifty years ago has enabled her to serve society in unique ways. These past lessons from NBS taught her how to dream big and look beyond her own societal barriers as an African American. Looking to the future, she will emphasize that as society becomes more complex, positive social change becomes more possible than it was in past years. Dr. King will challenge the audience to use many societal tools to improve the quality of life for all people.
