NCAL: Digital Image Correlation (DIC) Measurement Systems

Over 10 independent digital image correlation (DIC) measurement systems are available in the NIST Center for Automotive Lightweighting

The majority of these systems are stereo-DIC (2 camera) systems, but we have 2D-DIC (1 camera), and multi-camera systems as well.

These systems are integrated with the majority of our mechanical test systems.

NCAL staff are actively working with the International Digital Image Correlation Society (iDICs) and have helped develop the A Good Practices Guide for DIC.
