Description:

The Common Industry Format (CIF) is a standard format for reporting the results of summative usability testing. The zip file in this directory is a set of documents that explains the details of the CIF. There are appendices that show examples, define terms, and provide information for completing a CIF report. There is also a Word97 template of the CIF; most usability folks who use the CIF find this the easiest way to fill in the required information.

When to use the CIF:

After you have completed you testing with users, you will report the results of your test using the CIF.
