Biography of Jay Alexander

Jay Alexander is senior vice president and chief technology officer of Keysight Technologies, an independent public company that was created from the electronic measurement business of Agilent Technologies in 2014.

Alexander leads Keysight's central planning and technology development teams to focus on critical market trends and top opportunities to address unmet customer needs. His role is to optimize Keysight resources to achieve competitive advantage and growth, and to lead the development of new technologies and platform offerings for maximum impact across the company.

Alexander previously held numerous leadership positions within Agilent, including his most recent role as vice president and general manager of the Oscilloscope and Protocol Division.

Alexander joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 1986 as a manufacturing and test engineer. During his tenure, he has served as R&D manager for HP's Oscilloscope and Logic Analyzer business, product planning manager for Agilent's Design Validation Division, marketing manager for Agilent's Network and Digital Solutions Business Unit, and architecture and business intelligence manager for Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group.

Alexander earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a licensed professional engineer and a senior member of IEEE. He has been awarded 24 U.S. patents.
